The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has introduced a fresh vision for education in India, aiming to create a more flexible, inclusive, and holistic learning environment. The policy emphasizes interdisciplinary learning, which allows students to choose subjects across streams, thus moving away from rigid science, commerce, and arts divisions. NEP 2020 also aims to introduce vocational training from a young age, which will help students develop real-world skills early on.

One of the most progressive changes is the emphasis on regional languages, with an aim to improve early childhood literacy and comprehension. Additionally, NEP proposes the establishment of a National Assessment Center to revamp the examination structure, moving from high-stakes annual exams to a more balanced assessment approach. NEP 2020 seeks to build a knowledge-driven economy, preparing students to thrive in an evolving global landscape. If implemented effectively, NEP has the potential to create an education system that is inclusive, adaptive, and geared towards developing future-ready citizens.
